2022 June 29th Comets Football Updates – Stateline Comets Football Organization

Good Afternoon Comet Parents!

Organization Update:

By now most have you should have been contacted directly via phone, email, or Team Snap by your team coaches or head coach (except possibly 3^rd/4^th grade as we’re mtg tonight).

We’ve held two fittings for equipment one week apart this month and the vast majority of our players were able to attend. Thank you.

Riddell or Zenith cannot ship any NEW helmet orders in time for the season, nor any more reconditioning orders. Thankfully we will have enough to meet our needs based upon the ones still pending sent in long ago.

Again, IF YOU OWN YOUR OWN HELMET….it must have been certified LAST year (2021) to be eligible for this season. IF NOT, it will not be allowed until re-certification is completed and that may not happen in time for the 2022 season.

A few parents have already reached out to us about additional player registration options. If it is allowed, we cannot guarantee equipment or jerseys will be received in time for a full season. If that’s fully understood up front, have them reach out to us directly to see what can be done.

We’re still looking for a few additional players in 8^th grade (2022 FALL enrollment). This is key for all teams to have enough players (15 or MORE) well before we start. Eighteen is certainly the preferred number but we will work to achieve at least the minimum at first. If we cannot get enough, our options are very limited. We even have a finder’s fee for new players added to this team.

The 1^st/2^nd, and 3^rd/4^th grade levels most likely will have two teams based on early projections. If so, we will attempt to split these teams as equal as possible in a draft process with players and coaches during week two of practice.

USED CLEATS & PANTS – We’ve had a parent reach out to us wondering about bringing in used (but in NICE condition) shoes/cleats, game and practice pants. We’ve done it in the past…but when the time was up there was a pretty big pile to manage later. So…if you can, please bring the items listed above to the August 1^st opener, and we’ll do the best we can for a few weeks to make this happen and help as many Comet families as we can, then donate all of the extras to another community. We most likely would fully accept help from any volunteering parents to coordinate this effectively.

4^th of July Parade?

We had a parent ask about our participation in this years parade and an email was also sent out a week ago inquiring.

If ANYONE wants to help participate and drive in the parade the form is attached. It would certainly require at least a truck or two AND possibly a trailer PER TEAM. It would also require responsible parties walking alongside the vehicles/trailers to ensure safety thru the entire parade route.

ALL COMET COACHES – 7/7/22 from 530-730 PM @ RBCHS Practice Field

Rockets Head Coach Mike Noll stated the next Coaching clinic is scheduled for Thursday 7/7 530-700pm on the Rockets practice field. These are generous offers of time and talent and we’d definitely like to see a high percentage turn out.
