2022 June 10th Comets Football Announcement – EQUIPMENT FITTING
Good Afternoon Comet Parents!
Organization Update:
We’ve received Comets Coaches Commitment forms from all Head Coaches. Most teams have locked in all of their asst coaches based upon actual needs and helmet count. Because we don’t have a full helmet count yet on what team sizes are going to be at present for a couple teams, we hope to know much more after our final equipment fitting 6/21/22.
A few parents have inquired about purchasing helmets. Unfortunately Riddell cannot ship helmets in time for the season, nor any more reconditioned ones. So I have reached out to Zenith again with hopes of them coming thru. We may even have extra helmets based upon the large order processed in 2021, and our early 2022 return for reconditioning.
IF YOU OWN YOUR OWN HELMET….it must have been certified LAST year (2021) to be eligible for this season. IF NOT, it will not be allowed until re-certification is completed.
EARLY REGISTRATION ended on 5/30/22. Since that date we’ve recvd quite a few more.
If online registration is incomplete or pending, it must completed before equipment fitting NEXT Tuesday 6/14/22. As of this afternoon, there are 23 pending registrations. If you haven’t recvd confirmation that yours was completed, you should probably check asap.
The only changes in 2022 registration are a few that include Parents Volunteer Agreement and Coaches Code of Conduct and Requirements forms. Please review carefully on the website or during registration, and please don’t hesitate to ask questions. Teams with low numbers but yet eligible to play (15 players), may require a few extra volunteers or fewer home games. We will review this as it gets closer to starting.
If you know of any NEW families and kids in our area, please don’t hesitate to share this or any upcoming information ASAP as the custom uniform order will be done in 2 weeks from today.
We’re still looking for a few additional players in 8th grade (2022 FALL enrollment). This is key for all teams to have enough players (15) well before we start. Eighteen is certainly the preferred number but we will work to achieve at least the minimum at first. If we cannot get enough, our options are very limited. We even have a finder’s fee for new players added to this team.
The 1st/2nd, and 3rd/4th grade levels may have two teams based on early projections. If so, we would split these teams as equal as possible in a draft process with players and coaches.

PLEASE Bring two checks – $200 volunteer fee (unless buy-out was purchased) and $100 per player equipment deposit
Parent/Guardian must be present to sign off on the equipment form and agree everything fits properly
Parents, If you cannot make either of the dates above, identify a player that your child is sized very closely to in school and we will use those measurements for ordering. No guarantees sorry.
Our supplier is giving us actual sample game jerseys and game pants that we are ordering, and we only have these dates to use them prior to returning them for the next customers fitting date(s).

Hello there,
My son Marshall law is a newbie 2nd grade player. Do i have to sign him up for the newbie camp on July 28th or is he already included since this is his first year? Does he have to attend the other camps (speed camp) for new players as well?
