Comets Update – Week #7

Good Afternoon Comet Parents!

We are now into Week # 7 of the 2025 regular season.

All of our 2025 games are scheduled thru this Saturday only, and then all teams will be seeded accordingly this Sunday. Playoff and non-playoff teams alike.

So after this Saturday, we will all have to wait to see who our next opponents are, location, and game time.

Please be patient and we will update everyone as soon as we know!

Oct 4^th Results

Our Flag team fought back and forth down the field to another tie game!

1^st/2^nd Grade had a BYE.

3^rd Grade team lost 0-27 at J-Burg.

4^th Grade won at home 33-0 against Milw Lutheran.

5^th Graders had a BYE.

6^th Grade lost a close one at Waterford 22-27.

7^th Grade won 30-0 at home against Kenosha BGC.

8^th Grade won 26-0 against Union Grove at their place.

Oct 11^th Schedule

The Flag team will play their FINAL GAME of the season! Good luck ALL FLAGERS!

1^st/2^nd Grade opens the tackle games at home against Waterford White (4-1) @ 9 AM

3^rd Grade plays Grayslake North (2-3) at 10:30 AM

4^th Grade team has a BYE

5^th Graders play at NOON against Westosha (4-1)

6^th Grade will play Westosha Maroon (1-4) at 1:45 PM

7^th grade plays Union Grove (2-3) at 3:30 PM for the final game of the day at Thelen Park

8^th Graders play at RBCHS Rocket Stadium in their Freshman transition game against Whitnall (1-4) @ 5:15 PM

The 8^th grade game at RB will start following the 7^th grade game being played at Thelen as the refs will need to transition over to RB and a Field Marshall immediately following the 7^th grade game.

Please help keep the Parks clean after all games as the final team of the day has to pick up and review the ENTIRE PARK before leaving.

Parents of the Flag Players and the 8^th Grade Team get your cameras ready as they both battle each other in the annual FLAG/8^TH Grade Battle!!

Our Banquet is still tentatively set for 11/8 or 11/9. We’re still working out details.

Come join FARMERS MARKET on Saturday, October 18th, from 9am to 1pm in Main Street Park, 8013 Blivin Street for the last Farmers Market of the season.

This month we will be celebrating OKTOBERFEST! We are welcoming back Good Times Eddie and his Hohner Button Box, as well as new vendors selling sourdough bread, Pratt Brewing will also have their delicious Oktoberfest beer for purchase!

Enjoy decorations and costumes from our vendors who will all be participating a raffle with the winner pulled at the end of the market. Receive a raffle ticket from any vendor you purchase from or if you donate to the food pantry (Helping Hands food pantry will be on site).

Bring the kiddos! Pumpkin and gourds will be available to paint and decorate.

Damage to SG Parks – We need your help!

Unfortunately, vandalism in our parks continues. The Village spends thousands of dollars per year in vandalism repairs that could be spent improving our parks!

Each of the recently installed pickleball courts has been vandalized or damaged in some way since their installation.

If you see damage actively being done in any of our parks, please call the Spring Grove Police Department at 815-338-2145.

If you see damage, please report it to the Village Hall at 815-675-2121.

 

Our RB Rockets…gathered their SIXTH win off the season last Friday night and WON 42-12 over Sandwich!

 

This Friday the Rockets play @ Woodstock North (4-2) at 7 PM for another thrilling Friday night of IHSA HS football!
