If
you get a chance, turn on ESPN2 at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday and watch
former SLC and Richmond-Burton star DL John Baldwin and the UW-Wisconsin
Warhawks battle Mt. Union for the NCAA DIII National Championship.
John is a Junior DL, and was 2nd Team All-Conference for the 2nd
straight year.
This is John's third appearance in the National Championship Game in his
three years at UWW. This is the fifth straight year that UWW will be
playing in the title game - all against Mt Union. UWW has one one of the
previous four matchups.
Whitewater is 14-0 and ranked #2 nationally. Mt Union is also 14-0, and
is ranked #1.
John was injured in the First Round 70-7 win over Lakeland College. He
missed the 2nd Round win over Illinois Weslyan and the Quarterfinal win
over Wittenburg, but was back on the sideline for the 27-17 Semi-Final
Win of Linfield College.
In John's three seasons at UWW, their record has been 41-3. (2 of the
losses to Mt Union and the other to DII St. Cloud St.)
